As a volunteer with the New American Welcome Center (NWAC) located at the DuPont YMCA, you will be assisting new Americans, including refugees and immigrants who are new to Jacksonville and the United States. You will help adults from around the world feel welcomed in our city. A variety of different opportunities exist for volunteering, including computer literacy courses, a community garden, ESOL classes, food pantry, women's arts and crafts, youth sports, and assistance with accessing resources throughout our city. Due to Covid19 there may be some restrictions or changes to our program. Volunteer applicants should be at least 16 years of age, culturally sensitive, and passionate about working with people from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Days and time vary.
